The Arc Machines’ Model 79 series weld heads are economical, easy to use, sturdy, weld heads designed for precision orbital welding with or without filler wire of tube, pipe, and fittings. Each weld head features: Arc Voltage Control (AVC) for precise arc gap control, programmable oscillation (weaving) and a precision wire feeder and wire entry mechanics. All Model 79 weld heads operate using the GTAW (TIG) process and will accommodate a range of pipe sizes from 0.75” O.D. to 6.625” O.D. (19 to 170mm) and wall thicknesses p to 0.75” (19mm).

The Model 79 series is compatible with a variety of joint designs such as ‘J’ prep and square butt, and will weld materials ranging from stainless or carbon steels to exotic alloys such as Hastelloy, Inconel, and Monel, as well as all other TIG weldable materials. The Model 79’s use the same “self centering “ clamping mechanism and drive housing as the Model 95 series and mount on any pipe or tube diameter within its range with only a simple adjustment to the clamp. Precision-machined clamping jaws always hold the weld head concentric to the pipe. Model 79 weld heads are ideal for pipe shop applications as well as for in-place on-site use in a variety of industrial piping environments. The Model 79 series is compatible with AMI Model 215, 227 or 415 power supplies.
